Freeze Drying Services

$40.00

Do you have a favorite recipe that you’d like to freeze dry and store in your food security stash? Or maybe you would like to freeze dry a meal to take camping or on vacation with you.

Let us help you make this a reality!

Take some ideas for freeze drying from our list of uses:

  • food security stash

  • personal portions of leftovers

  • eggs - when the chickens lay like crazy in the summer (one load = 4 dozen eggs)

  • cooked and freeze-dried foods for camping or road trips

  • cooked oatmeal for instant oats

  • colostrum from our dairy cows and goats

  • fruits for delicious snacking

  • have an idea? just ask!

Story time: we live far from family and when we went on our annual family vacation, we threw a couple packs of home grown freeze dried ground beef in our suitcase. When it was our night to make supper, we rehydrated the meat and cooked it up in spaghetti, just like it was fresh from the grocery store!

The sky is the limit on what we can freeze dry for you. Well, almost the limit, anyway - high fat foods, such as butter or cream, do not freeze dry well and we also do not freeze dry pure soft/liquid sugar, such as honey, maple syrup, or marshmallow cream.

Price is per full load and usually takes approximately 2 days to process.

Your responsibilities:

  • prepare the food (i.e., crack and scramble eggs in ziplock bags of 1 dozen or cut up fruit/veggies).

  • provide airtight jars for packing post-drying (we can also package for long-term storage for a small processing fee).

We do the rest!
